Meat quality specialist to speak at cattlemenıs meeting on May 8

Dr. Deb Roeber, new University of Minnesota Extension Meat Quality Specialist, will speak on ³Issues Shaping Todayıs Beef Industry² at the May 8 meeting of the Snake River Cattlemenıs Association meeting at Embers Restaurant in Milaca.

Roeber, a graduate of Colorado State University, is giving leadership in Minnesota to meat quality assurance educational efforts.

There will also be discussion at this meeting on the Snake River Valley Cattlemenıs Association hosting the 2004 Minnesota State Cattlemenıs Tour.

The meal begins at 6:30 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. Make reservations by calling the Mille Lacs County Extension Office at 888-680-8317 ASAP.

Master Gardener Tour

Join the seventh annual Kanabec County Master Gardener sponsored Gardening Tour to Winnipeg Aug. 15-18. The coach bus tour will leave from stops in Milaca, Mora, Pine City and Hinckley on Friday, Aug. 15.

Cost of the four-day weekend which includes some meals, lodging, bus, taxes and gratuity is $300. $150 is due by May 23 and $150 by July 11.
