Boys 2nd, Milacašs boys notched second place while Milacašs girls finished fourth in a five-team track and field meet Tuesday, April 29, at Milaca. St. Michael-Albertville won the boys division with 158 points while Milaca totaled 126. Chisago Lakes was third at 120, Princeton placed fourth at 81 and Mora was fifth with 66 points. Senior Tony Swenson and sophomore Axel Totzke notched individual first places for the Wolves as Swenson won the 300-meter hurdles in 44.10 and Totzke won the 400 dash in 53.68. Swenson also placed second in the 110 hurdles in 16.59. Junior Mitch Vedders placed second in the 200 dash in 23.20. And, Vedders, Totzke and sophomores Jon Moorlag and Andy Kotsmith combined to place second in the 4x200 relay in 1:35.74. Princeton won the girls division with 135 points while SM-A placed second at 107 and Chisago Lakes was third at 101. Milaca was fourth with 73 points and Mora placed fifth with 69 points. Milaca won four individual events. Senior Jessi Struffert won the 400 dash in 1:00.3, junior Janelle Packard won the 200 dash in 27.72, ninth grader Alyssa Wildman won the 3200 run in 13:36.03 and eighth grader Kelly Nelson won the pole vault with a vault of 9-feet. Struffert, Packard, senior Chrissy Dee and junior Amberly Hirsch teamed up to win the 4x400 relay in 4:18.57. Dee also notched second place in the high jump with a jump of 5-feet and Hirsch placed second in the long jump at 13-6. Alanna Wildman placed second in the 3200 in 13:36.09 and sophomore Amanda Prasnicki was second in the pole vault at 9-0. Struffert, Hirsch, Prasnicki and Packard placed second in the 4x200 relay. Milacašs boys and girls travel to Princeton today (Thursday) for the Rum River Conference Meet. That meet begins with field events at 12:30 p.m.
