Kenneth Eli
Funeral services were Saturday, March 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Morrill with the Rev. Tom Olson officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with military honors provided by the Hillman VFW Post 602. Arrangements were by the Foley Funeral Home. Kenneth was born May 14, 1919 in Milaca to Oscar and Bertha (Sandeen) Eli. He married Rosella Goltz Aug. 3, 1946 at St. Ritaís Catholic Church in Hillman. Ken had lived and farmed his entire life near Hillman. He also worked at the ACME Foundry in Minneapolis until his retirement in 1982. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, serving in central Europe, southern France and Sicily. He was the recipient of a Bronze Service Arrowhead and the Good Conduct Medal. Ken was a member of the Hillman VFW Post 602 and St. Josephís Catholic Church. He was a very generous person and had great concern for others. He is survived by his son, Doug and Marie of Avon; grandchildren, Benjamin and Maggie; brothers, Oscar Jr. of Milaca, Burnette of Hillman and Aldon of Alco, Nev.; sisters, Maxine Laudert of Minneapolis and Jane Chesney of Milaca. He was preceded in death by his wife; infant son, Dennis; and brothers, Vallard and Ronald.
