Luella Covell

Funeral services for Luella H. Covell, 89, were held Friday, March 7, at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. Jon Olson officiating.

Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.

Luella died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the St. Anthony Park Home in St. Paul.

She was born Jan. 6, 1914 to Martin and Caroline (Johnson) Hanson in Bismark, N.D. As a young girl, she attended country school near Driscoll, N.D. The family later moved to Milaca, where Luella graduated from Milaca High School. After schooling, Luella did housework in Minneapolis. During the war she resided in the state of Washington where she worked at a hospital. After returning to Minneapolis she worked for the UpJohn Drug Company for many years. Luella married Don Covell and they resided in Minneapolis.

Luella is survived by her sister, Marion Hanson of Milaca; three step-children and several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Ruth; and three brothers, Palmer, Arthur and Earl.
