State Holstein shows scheduled The Minnesota Holstein Association State Holstein Show and Minnesota Junior Holstein State Show will be held the weekend of July 18- 19, at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Centre. The weekend starts on Friday, July 18, with the Minnesota Junior Holstein State Show at 10 a.m. Serving as judge of the show will be Scott Culbertson, Sire Analyst for Select Sires, of Pine Island. Youth up to age 21 are welcome in the membership by paying annual dues of $2.00. The shows continue on Saturday, July 19, at 8 a.m. with the Minnesota State Holstein Show. Michael Deaver of Edgerton, Wis., will judge 26 classes of registered Holsteins. The Golden Gopher Futurity Show will be held at noon during the open show. Henry Bartel, Ellsworth, Wis., will be selecting the winners of the Golden Gopher XXVII Show. Immediately following the Minnesota Junior Holstein Show on Friday, an Ag Olympics competition will be held for all youth. Ag Olympics is a fun activity that involves various ag related relays. Stearns County Holstein Association, hosts of this year's MHA state show, will host an old-fashioned fish fry starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 18. Both exhibitors and spectators of the show are welcome to this meal. About 300 head of registered Holsteins are expected to be entered in the MHA State Show. Any member of the Minnesota Holstein Association is invited to exhibit. For information, contact the Minnesota Holstein Association at (320)259-0637. The Minnesota Holstein Association was organized in 1910 for the promotion and improvement of the Holstein breed. The present program and services continue that tradition.
