Memorial services for Janet Voigt, 41, of Lockhart, Texas, were held Friday, June 13, 2003 at McCurdy Funeral Chapel in Lockhart with Deacon Pat Venglar officiating.

Janet died Sunday, June 8, 2003.

She was born January 20, 1962, to Leonard and Lorraine Voigt in Little Falls, Minn. She attended school in Milaca until her family moved to Texas in 1979. After graduating from Harlingen High School in 1980, Janet attended Texas State Technical College. She became employed at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen as a radiology receptionist, where she worked for many years until her marriage to Manuel Jamon. After a short time, she and Manuel moved to Minnesota where they resided for five years until returning to Texas with their three children. They remained good friends after the marriage ended in 1993. Soon after, she received her medical transcription certificate and worked out of her home in order to be with her children.

Janet loved people and made new friends wherever she went. She was a very creative person, whether it was arts and crafts, writing, or helping her children with school projects. Among Janet¹s favorite hobbies were karaoke and acting in small plays. She often performed in Christmas plays with her children.

Survivors include her fiancé, Stan; her three children, Jade (16), Amber (14), and Nicolas (11); her mother, Lorraine Voigt of Lockhart, Texas; four sisters, Mary Ann Voigt and fiancé Jim of Vadnais Heights, Minn., Donna Voigt Obongen and husband Bernie of Round Rock, Texas, Margie Sharp and husband Terry of Round Rock, Texas, Sharon Sachs and husband Terry of Pine City, Minn.; seven brothers, Joe of Lytle, Texas, Dave of New Braunfels, Texas, Dennis and wife Judy of St. Cloud, Minn., Mike and wife Kim of Apple Valley, Minn., Jeff and wife Mangkone of Manor, Texas, Dale and wife Yesenia of Kyle, Texas, and Gary and wife Amanda of Austin, Texas; 18 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Janet was preceded in death by her father in 1996.
