Funeral services for Mary Julia (Drabant) Dziuk, 90, of Milaca, were held Saturday, June 14, 2003 at St. Maryıs Catholic Church in Milaca with the Rev. Charlie Kunkel, OSC officiating. Burial followed at St. Maryıs Cemetery.

Music was provided by Connie Drabant and Marion Katke. Pallbearers included Keith Drabant, Steven Diers, David Diers, Gordy Olson, Bob McGaffey and Gary Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were with the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.

Mary died June 10, 2003 at the Milaca Elim Home.

She was born Feb. 16, 1913 to John and Mary (Fedak) Kowalsky in Northeast Minneapolis. Mary moved north of Milaca with her family when she was eight years old. At the age of 23, she married Edward J. Drabant. They made their home on a farm southeast of Milaca and she resided there until Edwardıs death in 1967. After his death, she moved to a house in Milaca, then resided at the Key Row Apartments for 13 years and for the last seven years she has lived at the Milaca Elim Home. Mary was a member of St. Maryıs Catholic Church in Milaca where she took care of the altar flowers and was a member of St. Maryıs Guild. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, arts and crafts, fishing, dancing and playing bingo at the Elim Home.

Mary is survived by her children, Bernard and wife Sharon Drabant of Park Rapids, Donald and wife Maureen Drabant of Wahkon, Francis and wife Judith Drabant of Blaine, Julia and husband Terry Winstead of Westboro, Mo., and Patricia and husband Elroy Diers of Blaine; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, John Kowalsky of Minneapolis; sister, Eleanor and husband Alex Gadacz of Mounds View; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward Drabant and Tony Dziuk; brothers, Joseph Kowalsky, George Kowalsky and Steve Kowalsky; and sister, Agnes Michalski.
