Gerald Schwindt
Music will be by Ann Johnson and Cheryl Bailey. Military honors will be by the Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post 178 and the Siemers-Hakes VFW Post 10794 of Milaca. Arrangements are with the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Gerald died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at his home. Gerald was born Nov. 21, 1956 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Koch) Schwindt on the family farm. He attended country school and graduated from Ogilvie High School. In February of 1981 he married Debra Jean Lohmeier and the couple had a son, Tyler John Schwindt, who is now 18. Gerald joined the Army in 1985 and served in Germany and also in Egypt during the Gulf War. He finished his duty in Georgia at Fort Stewart. After a divorce in 1993, Gerald moved back to Ogilvie in 1994, bringing Tyler with him. On July 31, 1995 he married Johnna Sharleen (Day) Muller. Gerald raised her daughter, Lucretia (Lucy) Marie Muller, as his own. Lucy is now 13. The couple had another daughter, Hannah Sharleen Schwindt, who is now seven years old. His children were Geraldıs greatest gift; he loved them dearly. He was a member of the Milaca United Methodist Church where he ushered once a month. Gerald was a loving husband, a hard worker and was willing to help anyone who needed him. Gerald worked for Rich Mizer Trucking hauling bulk milk. Last year he went to work for Organic Valley out of Wisconsin. Truck driving was his dream when he returned to Minnesota in 1994. Gerald is survived by his wife of eight years, Johnna; son, Tyler; daughters, Lucy and Hannah; five brothers, Ronald of Montana, Steven and wife Regina of Montana, Wayne and wife Karen of New Hampshire, Harold and James, both of Ogilvie; sister, Delores of Montana; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
