Raymond Sanftner

Funeral services for Raymond Ralph Sanftner, 66, were scheduled Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca.

Burial will follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery near Foreston. Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Sanftner died at his home Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.

He was born Aug. 21, 1936 to Paul and Ida (Ulman) Sanftner in Mankato, Minn. He attended All Saints School in Madison Lake, Minn., through the eighth grade. He lived on a farm near St. Peter, and then moved to a farm with his brother, Paul Jr., near Mora. He married Lillian Nord April 5, 1975 in Knife Lake, Minn. The couple made their home in Foreston. Lillian preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1978. Raymond lived on a farm he operated north of Milaca the rest of his life.

He is survived by his son, Perry and wife Angie of Warba, Minn.; granddaughters, Lillian and Coral; two brothers, Russell of Mora and Robert of Mankato; four sisters, Genevieve Conor of Madison Lake, Mary and husband Robert Willeart of St. Peter, Rosella and husband Art Branch of Estes Brook and Marcella and husband Herbert Branch of Hopkins.

He was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Lucille; and brothers, Charles and Paul, Jr.
