Edith Koppendrayer
Pallbearers were Wes and Phil Van DeRiet, and Harlan, Paul, Tim, and Ron Droogsma. Music was provided by Sylvia Ruis and Mickie Malone. Arrangements were with the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Edith died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at the North Ridge Care Center in New Hope. She was born March 22, 1928 to Henry and Anna (Jongejeugd) Droogsma in Princeton, Minn. She attended school in Princeton where she graduated from high school in 1946. Edith married Herman Koppendrayer on Dec. 30, 1947 in Pease. They made their home in Milaca, where they raised their eight children. After the children were raised Edith worked at the Elim Home for 12 years. She also did volunteer work at the Elim Home and Crisis Pregnancy Center. Edith was a charter member of the Milaca Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Edith is survived by her children, Russell of Longview, Wash., Beverly and husband Bernie Koops of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Allen of Fargo, N.D., Leslie and wife Kristi of Nicollet, Minn., Audrey and husband Steve Durden of Pasadena, Calif., Virginia and husband Mark Larva of Floodwood, Minn., Burton and wife Trish of Guinea, Africa, and Gary of Coon Rapids, Minn; 16 grandchildren; two sisters, Dena Peterson of Pine City, and Florence Van DeRiet of Pease; three brothers, Sidney and wife Jean of Milaca, Ernie and wife Joan of Pease, and Ray and wife Lillian of Pease; sister-in-law, Carolyn Droogsma of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; son, Kenneth; sister, Agnes; and brother, Henry Jr. ©Mille Lacs County Times |
