Memorial services for

LeVern Oscar Swanson, 81, were held Monday, July 29, at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with the Rev. David Kiel officiating.

Mr. Swanson died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Princeton Elim Home.

He was born May 16, 1921 to Oscar and Hannah (Olson) Swanson in Illinois. As a small child, he moved with his family to Hayland Township, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota. He married Betty Brown on May 8, 1954 and they had two daughters. LeVern worked his entire life as a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Milaca; daughters, Barbara (Peter) Sorenson and Patricia (Joel) Abel, both of Milaca; granddaughters, Sarah (Josh) Wiedewitsch and Joetta Sorensen; five great-grandchildren; sister, Hannah Johnson of Milaca; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Wilda Iverson and Betty Peterson; brothers, Carl, Harry, Edwin and Reuben.
