Jason Swanson Jason R. Swanson, son of Robert and Lynette Swanson of Milaca, has enrolled at Saint Johnís University for the 2002-2003 academic year.
Damian Patnode Damian Patnode of Milaca, a junior at Minnesota State University- Mankato, was named to the deanís list for spring semester 2002. To be honored a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average. Jacob Vos Jacob Vos, son of Leo and Margaret Vos of Foreston, has enrolled at Saint Johnís University for the 2002-2003 academic year. Aaron Carlson Aaron Carlson of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for 2002 spring semester at North Dakota State University. To qualify, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits. Lisa DeBoer Lisa DeBoer has received a masterís degree in exercise and sports science-human performance from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Lisa is the daughter of Rob and Lois DeBoer of Milaca. Alicia Connor Alicia Connor is on the second semester deanís honor roll at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Connor of Milaca. David Cornelius David Cornelius of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for 2002 spring semester at North Dakota State University. To qualify, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits. Brian Johnson Brian Johnson of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for 2002 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. To qualify, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Nicole Jones Nicole Jones of Milaca was elected treasurer of the Northwestern College Student Missions Fellowship executive council for the 2002-2003 aca- demic year. She is a junior mathematics education major and was elected development coordinator by the 2001-2002 executive council.

To be included, a student must carry at least six credits and maintain a 3.0-3.49 grade point average. Joshua Cornelius Joshua Cornelius of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for 2002 spring semester at North Dakota State University. He attained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Jenna Zakrajsek Jenna Zakrajsek of Milaca was among participants at the Hugh OíBrian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Conference June 15 at Hamline University. It is a week-long event about leadership, responsibility, entrepreneurship and government. About 200 high school sophomores from across the state attended. To qualify, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits. Sarah Houger Sarah Houger participated in commencement exercises at Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center May 25, 2002. She received a master of science in physical therapy. Sarah is the daughter of Cindy Kessler of Milaca and a graduate of Faith Christian School. Nathan Johnson Nathan Johnson of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for 2002 spring semester at North Dakota State University. He attained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. DesiRae Nelson DesiRae Nelson, daughter of Debbie Hackett of Milaca, has enrolled at the College of Saint Benedict for the 2002-2003 academic year. Adam Roehl Adam Roehl of Foreston has been named to the honorís list for the spring 2002 semester at Ridgewater College. Skye Burma Skye Burma of Milaca has been named to the honorís list for the spring 2002 semester at Ridgewater College. To be included, a student must carry at least six credits and maintain a 3.0-3.49 grade point average. Sara Hendrickson Sara Hendrickson, daughter of James and Lois Hendrickson of Milaca, has been awarded $1500 at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Campus for the 2002-2003 academic year. She is pursuing a degree in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering. Stephanie Souer Stephanie Souer of Milaca has been named to the deanís list for the spring 2002 semester at Ridgewater College. To be included, a student must carry at least six credits and maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Luke Karels Luke Karels is Milacaís recipient of the U.S. Bank High School Award. The award consists of a $250 cash gift and an inscribed certificate. Luke was chosen because of his grade point average, school activities and community involvement. He has also received and activated a four-year Type 7 Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship. The scholarship includes full college tuition and most lab fees at a college or university where the tuition is less than $9,000 a year. Karels will attend the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He is the son of Larry and Julie Karels of Milaca. Ryan Westling Ryan Westling of Milaca has been awarded the Myrtle and Ray Little Scholarship at Central Lakes College, Brainerd. Classes will start Aug. 26 for the fall term.
