Jane Ostmoe

Funeral services for Jane Margaret Ostmoe, 80, were held Tuesday, July 30, at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Milaca with the Rev. Richard John OSC, officiating.

Burial was at St. Maryís Cemetery in Milaca. Music was provided by Marion Katke and Ann Johnson.

Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.

Jane died Friday, July 26, 2002 at Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton.

She was born Jan. 18, 1922 to George and Alice (Litchy) Richard in St. Cloud. She attended St. Cloud Tech High School, graduating in 1939. Jane went on to attend the College of St. Benedict and Drews Business College. After college, she worked at Guarantee State Bank. She married Theodore Ostmoe on March 7, 1944 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. They made their home in St. Cloud and later moved to Ogilvie. In 1954, they moved to Milaca and Jane worked at the First National Bank of Milaca for a few years. In 1965, she started working as a secretary for the Milaca Schools. She worked there until her retirement in 1987.

She was a member of the St. Maryís Catholic Church in Milaca, the Milaca Golf Club and she enjoyed bridge club and volunteer work.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ted of Milaca; children, Paul and wife Linda of Elk River, Mary and husband Dale DeVries of New Brighton, John and wife Sandy of Milaca, Katie and husband Jim Staska of St. Cloud; son-in-law, Bill Jarrells of West St. Paul; grandchildren, Alyssa (Jason) Klein, Eric and David Ostmoe, Michael (Mary Sue) DeVries, Amy (Matt) Linabery, Joel DeVries, Brian Jarrells, Jennifer (fiance Josh) Jarrells, Hannah and Hayley Staska; and great-grandchild Madeline Klein.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Martha Jarrells.
