A "Community Service of Remembrance, Thanksgiving and Challengeíí will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2002, 7:30 p.m., at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. The service is sponsored by the Milaca Area Ministerial representing the churches in Milaca, Pease, Bock and Foreston. The entire community is invited to this service to mark the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C.

filing dates set
Aug. 27-Sept. 10
Those interested in running for Bock or Foreston city council or mayor must file between Aug. 27-Sept. 10.
There are two council positions (four-year term) and the position of mayor (two-year term) open in both Bock and Foreston.
For Bock, contact city clerk Lynda Sjoberg at 320-983-2117 for an appointment to file at Bock City Hall.
Bock council election will be held at the Bock City Hall at 1624 Anderson Avenue in Bock on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
For Foreston, contact city clerk Becky Haugen at 320-294-5636 to make an appointment for filing at the Foreston Fire Hall.

Filing for Milaca School Board set
Aug. 27-Sept. 10
Four seats on the Milaca School District No. 912 School Board will be filled in the November 5 general election.
Filing takes place Aug. 27-Sept. 10 at the office of the school district clerk. There is a $2 filing fee.
Elected school board members hold a four year term.
Current board members up for election include chairman Steve Wunderlich, Laurie Gahm, Jackie Struffert and Calvin Beumer.
