Geurkink turns self in after warrant issued Jon Wesley Geurkink of Pease turned himself in to the Mille Lacs County jail on Thursday, Aug. 8 after a warrant was issued on July 31 for his arrest. In addition to Geurkink missing a urinalysis test, a condition of a previous warrant, he also violated conditions of his earlier release for being present at an alleged meth lab in Sherburne County, and did not appear in court for an omnibus hearing on Friday, Aug. 2. Geurkink, 35, was originally arrested on May 2 after a search warrant was executed at his Pease residence. He was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine (meth), unlawful containment, tampering, theft, or transport of anhydrous ammonia. Additional bail was set on Friday, Aug. 9 at $150,000 through a televised hearing with a Benton County judge (there were no Mille Lacs County judges available that day). However, since the judge did not have a complete file on Geurkink, a review hearing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15. Geurkink is currently being held at the Mille Lacs County jail.
