Golf course now open, The Milaca Golf Club opened its 2002 season on Tuesday, April 16 to a beautiful and warm day. The course looks beautiful and the winter did not do much damage to the new and old holes. Superintendent Paul Anderson is ready to tackle the many spring projects the course has planned and Wendy Hoeck, clubhouse manager, looks forward to the season and hopes that the weather warms up and the rains will come at opportune times so that eager golfers can get out and enjoy the course. People interested in golfing should note that the Milaca Golf Club is a public course, owned and operated by the members. If you are interested in green fee rates or membership, please contact the clubhouse at 983-2110. To kick off the new golf season, the Ladies Golf League is hosting a dinner, called Game Show Golf and Great Grub Night on Saturday, April 27. The evening starts with a social at 5 oíclock with munchies and beverages. A pork prime rib, home cooked meal, made by clubhouse manager Wendy Hoeck, will be served at 6:30. A game show golf trivia game (where anyone can win!) will take place starting at 6:30. Two contestants can win up to $250 in cash by answering golf trivia questions with the help of the audience. The fund-raising event is open to the public and tickets are on sale at the golf clubhouse for $20 per person. Call 983-2110 to purchase tickets or receive more information.
