Arthur Hallin Funeral services for Arthur Rudolph Hallin, 94, were held Friday, April 27, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Bock with the Rev. Charles Evavold officiating. Burial followed at the Borgholm Cemetery in Bock. Music was provided by Hilda Fransen and Janet Burklund. Pallbearers included Robert Hallin, Paul Birr, Jeff Hanson, John Kulyas III, Tim Burklund and Harvey Burklund. Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Mr. Hallin died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at the Milaca Elim Home. He was born Oct. 23, 1906 to Olaf and Christina (Jonsdotter) Hallin in Kanabec County, Minn. He married Lucille Manthie Nov. 13, 1944 in Bock. They had three children, Diana, Robert and Kathleen. The couple farmed north of Bock and Arthur also did carpentry work. In 1952, they moved into Bock, where they lived until February of 2001, when Arthur moved to the Milaca Elim Home. He enjoyed raising horses, deer hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille of Bock; children, Diana and husband Norman Hibden of California, Robert and wife LuAnn Hallin of Columbia Heights, Minn., and Kathleen Azlin of California; grandchildren, Tonya and husband Jeff Ess, Donald Wieberdink, Robert and wife Sheryl Hallin, Nicole and husband Paul Birr and Marie Hallin; great-grandchildren, Brittany Hallin, Jonathan Hallin, Jeremy Bush, Brian Wieberdink, and Summer Ess; step-grandaughter, Sheri and her family; brother, Bernard Hallin of Cambridge; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Caroline, Hannah and Olive; brothers, August and Karl; and grandson, Ronald.
