Florence Mirro Florence Theressa (Westling) Mirro, 86, died at her home in Marysville, Wash., Monday, March 19, 2001. She was born on January, 26, 1915 on the family farm in Borgholm Township, Mille Lacs County, Milaca, Minn. to James and Lillie (Olson) Westling. Early in life, Florence lived in Minneapolis, working as a waitress. During World War II, she worked at the Hanford Project for several years. In 1951, she moved to Washington where she was employed by Scott Paper until her retirement. She was a avid reader, a loving, caring person and longtime member of the Marysville Community Church. Florence married Anthony Mirro at Milaca in 1986. She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Leon Westling; grandson, Philip; brother, Donald; sister, Loris Johnson; and her parents. Florence is survived by her special friend, Sara Parker; sister, Alyce Alkire of Milaca; grandchildren, Brad and Gracemary of Howard Lake, Minn., Douglas and Maxine of Rapid City, S.D., Gerald and Jan of Mesa, Ariz., Donald and Jeni of Germany, John and Susan of Denver, Colo., Mary and John Barker of Eagan, Minn., and Lynette and Dennis Zanto of White Bear Lake, Minn.; niece, Donna Hjort; nephews, Marty, Darwin, Terry, Tim and Paul Alkire of Milaca; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25, 2001 in Washington. Burial will be in the Borgholm Cemetery near Bock at a later date.
